Sintrones VDM-700HD 7″ In-Vehicle Touchscreen Monitor with Front IP65, PCAP Touch and 9-48V DC Input

Fleet management terminals and cockpit displays on commercial vehicles rarely have room for a large screen, and every cable into the dashboard has to be routed and secured by the vehicle builder. The Sintrones VDM-700HD is a 7 inch in-vehicle touchscreen monitor sized for that space, with video, touch and power arriving through one custom DVI-D cable. It is a display only, so it pairs with a Sintrones in-vehicle computer mounted elsewhere in the vehicle.

The 7″ panel is 16:9 at 1280 x 720, with 560 nits typical brightness, a 1000:1 contrast ratio, an LED backlight and 80° viewing in every direction. Projected capacitive multi-touch reaches the computer as USB 2.0 over the same cable. Six touch hotkeys sit on the front, and two built-in digital microphones and a stereo speaker with a built-in amplifier can handle audio prompts and voice.

Connections are a 29-pin DVI-D Multi-IO connector, which uses a Sintrones custom pin definition for its own optional cable, and an HDMI port as a secondary video input. Sintrones lists its DVI to DVI cable for the VBOX-3630, VBOX-3122, VBOX-3131, SBOX-2622 and SBOX-2602, and offers DVI four-port and six-port combo cables for other Sintrones computers. In practice the VDM-700HD can sit on one cable run from the computer, with HDMI kept free for a second source.

Power is 9 to 48 V DC through the Multi-IO connector, so there is no separate power terminal on the monitor. The VDM-700HD runs from -20 °C to 60 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, stores from -40 °C to 80 °C at 10 to 90% humidity, and is rated to IEC 60068-2-64 and MIL-STD-810G for vibration and MIL-STD-810G at 15 G for shock. The front is IP65 and the rest IP4X, with CE, FCC Class A and E-Mark compliance. It weighs 510 g and mounts on VESA MIS-D 75. We supply it configured and tested with the matching Sintrones cable, and for a 10.1″ screen at 1,000 nits, the VDM-101HD uses the same one-cable approach.
