EAC-4000-XR16-OOB Overview
A unit that hangs on a gantry or rides in a delivery robot is cheap to install and expensive to visit. When an application locks up, the question is whether someone has to drive out to press a button. The Vecow EAC-4000-XR16-OOB answers that with an Allxon out-of-band module fitted under the Jetson Orin NX 16GB system, so the box PC can be power cycled, reset and reached through a serial console from the cloud.
The management side runs on a Nuvoton NUC980 MCU with its own 10/100 Ethernet port, a full-size Mini PCIe socket on USB and a nano SIM, so it stays reachable even when the main operating system does not respond. Compute is the same as the EAC-4000-XR16: an eight-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU, a 1024-core Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores, two NVDLA engines and 16 GB of LPDDR5, rated at up to 100 TOPS. We supply the EAC-4000-XR16-OOB with JetPack 6.2 on Ubuntu 22.04, the NVMe SSD and the Allxon module configured and tested.
System I/O covers one Gigabit Ethernet port, four USB 3.1 Type-A ports, HDMI 2.0 at up to 4K at 60 Hz and two DB9 COM ports for RS-232, RS-422 or RS-485. A second full-size Mini PCIe socket with its own nano SIM and two antenna positions serves the main system with an optional 4G or Wi-Fi module, and the NVMe SSD sits in an M.2 Key M socket on PCIe 4.0 x4.
Power is 12 V DC on a three-pin terminal block. The enclosure is fanless, rated from -25 °C to 55 °C in 15 W mode, with MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration testing and EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 compliance listed by Vecow. Wall mounting is standard and a DIN rail kit is optional. The EAC-4000F-XR16-OOB pairs the same management with a fansink for Super Mode, and the EAC-4000 series also includes Orin Nano builds such as the EAC-4000-AR08-OOB.
