Vecow EPBC-1000 2.5″ Pico-ITX SBC with Intel Atom x6211E, Dual GbE and -40 to 70 °C

Small enclosures in vehicles, gates and machines leave little room or power for a computer, yet the board still needs networking, storage and a display output. The EPBC-1000 is Vecow’s answer in the 2.5 inch Pico-ITX form factor: a 100 x 72 mm SBC with a low-power Intel Atom processor, dual Gigabit Ethernet and fanless operation from -40 to 70 °C.

The Intel Atom x6211E is a dual-core Elkhart Lake processor at 6 W TDP, with one DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM socket for up to 32 GB. Intel UHD Graphics drive one DisplayPort output at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, which suits signage, infotainment and HMI screens that need a sharp image from a small board.

Networking is two Gigabit ports on Realtek RTL8119I controllers. I/O covers two USB 3.0 ports, a USB 2.0 header, one RS-232/422/485 and one RS-232 header, a GPIO header and HD audio on a Realtek ALC888S-VD codec. Storage is a SATA III port and an M.2 Key B 2280 socket that also takes 5G or 4G modules with the on-board SIM slot, and an M.2 Key E 2230 socket takes Wi-Fi. The EPBC-2000 moves to an Atom x7211RE with DDR5 and dual 2.5GbE.

Power is 12 V DC on a 2-pin terminal block. The EPBC-1000 runs fanless from -40 to 70 °C, stores from -40 to 85 °C and handles 5 to 95% humidity, non-condensing, with heat spreader and heat sink accessories available. A watchdog timer and hardware monitoring with auto throttling are on board, and it carries CE and FCC marks. It measures 100 x 72 mm and supports Windows 10 and Linux.
