12G-SDI/HDMI2.0 to QSDI-S Overview
Many switchers, recorders and monitors built for 4K still take quad-link 3G-SDI rather than a single 12G-SDI cable. The Yuan 12G-SDI/HDMI2.0 to QSDI-S is a 12G-SDI converter that turns a 12G-SDI or HDMI 2.0 source into quad-link SDI, typically for broadcast and live production systems that mix generations of SDI kit.
Inputs are one HDMI 2.0 and one 12G-SDI, plus a stereo jack for analog L/R audio. 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0 are accepted at 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 at 60/50 fps, 6G-SDI at 4K30, and HD and SD formats below. Outputs are four SDI connections carrying quad-link SDI at 4K60 or dual-link at 4K30, in two-sample interleave or square division, or single-link 3G, HD and SD-SDI after scaling. A 12G-SDI loop-through repeats the input. Audio: HDMI eight channels up to 192 kHz, SDI up to eight channels at 48 kHz, and two analog channels.
The 12G-SDI/HDMI2.0 to QSDI-S runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input with auto source format detection. For the reverse path, the QSDI to 12G-SDI/HDMI2.0-S takes quad-link SDI back to 12G-SDI and HDMI 2.0. Where you only need SDI to SDI conversion without scaling, the 12G-SDI to QSDI handles it with 16-channel audio.
Yuan publishes no operating temperature or certification for this converter, so plan for an indoor rack. We can also supply spare units for critical signal paths and advise on mounting and power in the rack, so the installation is ready before you go live.
