Multi Converter 4K Overview
Graphics workstations, media servers and 4K test sources tend to output DisplayPort, DVI or HDMI, while broadcast and live production systems route SDI. The Yuan Multi Converter 4K is a 12G-SDI converter that brings those computer and consumer interfaces onto 12G-SDI, so one box can serve several source types in a gallery or AV rack.
Inputs are HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.2 with MST and SST support, dual-link DVI and SDI. The SDI input accepts single-link 12G, 6G, 3G, HD and SD-SDI, dual-link 6G or 3G-SDI, and quad-link 3G or HD-SDI in two-sample interleave. HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort run up to 4096×2160 at 60/50 fps, and DVI-DL up to 2560×1600 at 60/50 fps. Outputs are two 12G-SDI and one HDMI 2.0, with 12G-SDI at 4K60, 6G-SDI at 4K30 and HD formats below. Embedded audio is eight channels, 24-bit, 48 kHz.
The Multi Converter 4K has auto source format detection and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. If your sources are HD and include analog video, the Multi Converter covers HDMI, SDI, DVI-I, component, S-Video and composite. For a plain HDMI 2.0 source, the HDMI2.0 to 12G-SDI is the simpler single-input converter.
Yuan publishes no operating temperature or certification for this unit, so it suits an indoor rack or desk. Send us the formats, frame rates and cable runs on your system and we can check this converter fits, then pair it with Yuan capture cards where the signal also needs recording or streaming.
