PD575 HDMI Overview
Capturing a 4K camera or a fast 1080p source usually means a PCIe card, which rules out laptops and many compact PCs. The PD575 HDMI is Yuan’s USB HDMI video capture device, taking up to 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps or 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps and delivering it over USB 3.0. It suits 4K recording, review and streaming on portable or slot-less systems.
The HDMI input accepts 3840 x 2160 at 30 or 25 fps and 1920 x 1080 at 120 or 100 fps. In NV12 the card outputs 3840 x 2160 at 30 or 25 fps, 1920 x 1080 at 120 or 100 fps and 2560 x 1440 at up to 60 fps; Yuan notes the 3840 x 2160 and 2560 x 1440 outputs need a 3840 x 2160 input. From 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps down to 640 x 480, both NV12 and YUY2 are offered. Audio comes from the HDMI signal or a 3.5 mm analog stereo input at 16-bit, 48 kHz.
The capture card is an external USB unit that connects through a USB 3.0 Type B port as a UVC device. On a USB 2.0 port it still delivers 1280 x 720 at 30 fps in NV12, and SD sizes in NV12 or YUY2. The PD570 PRO HDMI adds Yuan’s ProAV scaler for sources up to 1920 x 1200, and the PD570 PRO HDMI2.0 HDR moves to HDMI 2.0 with 4K60 input.
Yuan lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, together with Linux and macOS, so the card can move between Windows, Linux and Mac capture hosts. Yuan’s model page does not give dimensions or an operating temperature range, so ask us for both where the card will be fitted inside an enclosure.
