PD575 SDI Overview
SDI is the standard link on many professional cameras and routers, but laptops and compact PCs have no SDI input and often no slot for an internal capture card. The PD575 SDI is Yuan’s USB SDI capture card, taking one SDI feed up to 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps and delivering it to the host over USB 3.0. It suits field capture, monitoring and streaming from SDI equipment.
The SDI input accepts 1920 x 1080 progressive at 60, 50, 30, 25 or 24 fps, 1080i at 60 or 50 fields, 1280 x 720 at 60 or 50 fps, and SD at 720 x 480i or 720 x 576i. Output over USB 3.0 is offered in NV12 and YUY2 at 1920 x 1080, 1280 x 720, 720 x 576, 720 x 480 and 640 x 480, each at 60, 50, 30 or 25 fps. Audio is captured from the SDI signal or a 3.5 mm analog stereo input at 16-bit, 48 kHz.
The capture card is an external USB unit that connects through a USB 3.0 Type B port and appears to the host as a UVC device, so nothing has to be fitted inside the host. On a USB 2.0 port it still delivers 1280 x 720 at 30 fps in NV12 and SD sizes in NV12 or YUY2. The PD570 PRO SDI adds Yuan’s ProAV scaler, and the PD575 HDMI is the HDMI version with 4K30 capture.
Yuan lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, together with Linux and macOS, so the card moves between Windows, Linux and Mac capture hosts. Yuan’s model page does not give dimensions or an operating temperature range, so ask us for both where the card will be mounted in a vehicle or equipment case.
