QSDI to 12G-SDI Overview
Many 4K cameras and recorders from before 12G-SDI output dual-link or quad-link SDI over two or four cables, which takes up router ports and patching. The Yuan QSDI to 12G-SDI is a 12G-SDI converter that merges those signals into one 12G-SDI cable, typically for broadcast and live production facilities moving to single-link 4K.
Inputs are one 12G-SDI and three 6G-SDI connections, accepting 12G-SDI, dual-link 6G-SDI or quad-link 3G-SDI at 4096×2160 and 3840×2160 at 60/50 fps, 6G-SDI, dual-link SDI or quad-link HD-SDI at 4K30, and dual-link HD-SDI and HD and SD formats below. Quad-link two-sample interleave input is supported, as are 3G-SDI Level A, Level B dual link and dual stream. Output is one 12G-SDI covering 12G, 6G, 3G, HD and SD-SDI. Embedded audio is 16 channels, 24-bit, 48 kHz.
The QSDI to 12G-SDI is plug and play and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. For the opposite direction, the 12G-SDI to QSDI splits 12G-SDI into dual or quad-link. If you also need HDMI 2.0 and scaling, the QSDI to 12G-SDI/HDMI2.0-S adds both.
No operating temperature or certification is published, so we treat it as an indoor rack unit. We can also supply spare units for critical signal paths and advise on mounting and power in the rack, so the installation is ready before you go live. Send us the formats, frame rates and cable runs on your system and we can check this converter fits, then pair it with Yuan capture cards where the signal also needs recording or streaming. We supply the QSDI to 12G-SDI configured and tested with the cameras, routers and displays it will connect to.
