UB5A0N4 Hybrid Overview
Control rooms, lecture capture and broadcast support setups often mix SDI cameras with an HDMI, DVI or older analog source, and the recording computer may have no free PCIe slot. The UB5A0N4 Hybrid is Yuan’s USB SDI and DVI video capture device for that mix, capturing four channels at once over USB 3.0 with H.264 hardware encoding. It suits multi-source recording where cards cannot be fitted inside the host.
Inputs one to three are SDI, covering 3G-SDI at 1080p60, HD-SDI and SD-SDI. Input 4 takes SDI or one of HDMI, DVI-I, VGA, YPbPr, S-Video or composite: HDMI and DVI run up to 1080p60, including 1280 x 1024 and 1024 x 768, YPbPr up to 1080p60, and composite and S-Video at 480i or 576i. Each channel captures 1080p60 in and outputs up to 1080p30 in RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12. Audio is SDI embedded plus an analog jack per input, with HDMI embedded audio and a pair of RCA connectors on input 4, at 16-bit stereo.
The device connects over USB 3.0 and supports multiple instances and multiple devices on one host. On-board processing covers H.264 encoding, cropping and scaling, deinterlacing and auto signal detection. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom and Teams among compatible DirectShow and V4L2 applications. For the same four-channel mix on a card, the SC5A0N4 Hybrid fits a PCIe slot, and the UB575 AIO is a single-channel USB unit with HDMI, SDI and DVI at 1080p60.
Yuan lists Windows, Linux, Linux ARM and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX support. We supply the UB5A0N4 Hybrid tested with the host computer it will run on, with drivers and capture software installed.
