Arestech TPM-3217 17" SXGA Industrial Touch Monitors with IP54 Panel Mount and PCAP or Resistive Touch

Many machine and kiosk builds need a plain, reliable touch screen that fits a cut-out, takes a VGA feed from the controller and runs from the same 12 or 24 V supply as the rest of the panel. The Arestech TPM-3217 series is built for that: a family of 17 inch industrial touch monitors with a 350 nit SXGA LCD at 1280 x 1024, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 170° horizontal and 165° vertical viewing angles, rated IP54 so dust and splashing water stay out when the monitor sits in a cabinet door or kiosk front.

Every TPM-3217 shares the same build. Video arrives on a single VGA input, power is 12 to 24 V DC from a single source on a two-pin Phoenix terminal block, drawing 22 W typical, and the 17″ monitor measures 411.4 x 337.5 x 41.6 mm for a 392.8 x 318.9 mm panel cut-out, with 75 x 75 and 100 x 100 mm VESA holes as an alternative. It operates from -20 °C to 60 °C at 5 to 95% humidity and is vibration-tested from 5 to 500 Hz at 2.16 Grms.

The TPM-3217 series splits on touch. The TPM-3217P uses a projected capacitive touch screen with a 7 Mohs surface and 90% transparency, connected over USB, for multi-touch bare-finger operation. The TPM-3217R uses a 5-wire resistive touch screen with a 3 Mohs surface, 80% transparency and a rating of 10 million touches, connected over USB or RS-232, which suits gloved operators and older controllers with a serial touch interface. Both models share the same cut-out and mounting, so a machine range can standardize on one panel and choose the touch technology per customer.
