ASRock Industrial NUCS BOX-1340P/D4 Intel Core i5-1340P Slim NUC Computer with Dual HDMI and 2.5GbE

Behind a reception screen or a point-of-sale display there is rarely more than a few centimeters of depth to spare. The ASRock Industrial NUCS BOX-1340P/D4 is the slim version of the NUC BOX format, a 38 mm tall industrial mini PC that hangs on a VESA bracket and still carries a 13th Gen Intel Core i5 with four display outputs.

The NUCS BOX-1340P/D4 uses an Intel Core i5-1340P, a Raptor Lake-P processor with four Performance-cores and eight Efficient-cores and Intel Iris Xe graphics. Unlike the DDR5 NUC BOX models, it takes DDR4-3200 in two SO-DIMM sockets, up to 64 GB in total, which leaves room for virtual machines or large in-memory datasets. Storage is a single M.2 Key M slot with PCIe Gen4 x4 for an NVMe SSD in 2242 or 2280 length, and TPM 2.0 is on board.

Two HDMI 2.0b ports on the rear feed the usual pair of screens directly, and the front adds a USB4 port and a USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-C port, both with DP 1.4a output, for four displays at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz. Four USB 3.2 Gen2 Type-A ports, two front and two rear, cover scanners, printers and card readers. Networking is one 2.5GbE port on an Intel I226LM, with a Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 module in the M.2 Key E slot, and the 12 to 19 V DC jack runs from the supplied 19 V, 90 W adapter.

The NUCS BOX-1340P/D4 is fan-cooled and rated for 0 °C to 40 °C, so it is meant for retail, office and hospitality settings rather than the plant floor. ASRock Industrial lists CE and FCC compliance and Windows 10 and 11 support. The NUCS BOX-1360P/D4 is the Core i7 version of this slim industrial mini PC, and the NUC BOX-1340P/D5 adds DDR5, a SATA port and a second 2.5GbE port in a taller case.
