DFI EC70A-ADN 8-Core Intel Core i3-N305 Industrial Mini PC with 9-36V DC and Triple 2.5GbE

Vision cells, kiosks and line-side stations often need a small computer that can handle several camera or network streams with no fan to clog. The EC70A-ADN is DFI’s industrial mini PC for that job: an 8-core Intel Core i3-N305 built on DFI’s ADN553 series board, in a fanless aluminum enclosure that fixes to a wall, a VESA plate or a DIN rail.

The Core i3-N305 brings eight cores and eight threads within a 15 W TDP, so the EC70A-ADN can typically run a vision runtime, a local HMI and a few containers side by side. Intel UHD Graphics decodes HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware and supports OpenCL 3.0, which suits video pre-processing and 4K signage. Memory is one DDR5 4800 SO-DIMM of up to 32 GB, and a discrete TPM 2.0 is on board for secure boot and disk encryption. It runs Windows or Linux with UEFI boot.

Networking is three Intel I226 2.5GbE ports on RJ45. USB is two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, two USB 2.0 Type-A and a USB-C with DisplayPort alt mode that pairs with the HDMI output for two displays. An RS-232/422/485 COM port is optional, and mic-in and line-out sit on the front panel. Inside, an M.2 M key 2280/2242 slot takes NVMe or SATA storage, an M.2 B key 3042/3052 slot with a SIM socket takes an optional 4G or 5G module, and an M.2 E key 2230 slot takes optional Wi-Fi with CNVi.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on a DC jack. DFI rates the EC70A-ADN from -5 °C to 60 °C, with shock tested to IEC 60068-2-27 and vibration to IEC 60068-2-64, and lists CE, FCC Class A, RoHS and UKCA compliance. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, storage, the OS image and any wireless modules fitted before it ships.
