Diamond Systems JUPITER-MM-7000 : JMM-7012-UPS 40W 12V Industrial PC104 Power Supply with UPS

Industrial PC/104 systems in cabinets, kiosks and machines often need a few minutes of ride-through rather than military input conditioning. The JMM-7012-UPS is the basic 12 V model in the Diamond Systems JUPITER-MM-7000 series, a PC/104 UPS power supply that keeps the backup energy control of the range in a simpler build.

It delivers 12 V at 40 W from a 9 to 36 V DC input. Diamond positions the basic JMM-7000 models for commercial and industrial applications where backup power is required, so they leave out the MIL-STD-461 EMI filter and the MIL-STD-704/1275 input stage fitted to the full-feature JMM-7300 models. Diamond designs the JMM-7000 family to meet MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration specifications, which still helps in machine and vehicle installations.

The UPS input takes a supercapacitor energy pack, plugged directly under the supply or cabled to a remote position. Diamond designed its SEP-7000 supercapacitor packs, storing up to 3300 J, for this input, though its ordering table now lists those packs as end of life, so confirm the energy store when you specify. With Diamond’s 3300 J pack, the datasheet quotes about 150 seconds of hold-up at 20 W, time enough for host software to save data and shut down cleanly. A built-in microcontroller reports charge and supply status on LEDs and over USB to the host CPU.

The JMM-7012-UPS runs from -40 to 85 °C on an integrated heat spreader mounting plate. The JMM-7312-UPS is the full-feature 12 V model with MIL-STD filtering, and the JMM-7005-UPS is the basic 5 V model with UPS at 25 W. We supply and specify each model as Diamond builds it.
