Neousys MezIO-R12 2.5″ SATA Drive MezIO Module with 4-Channel Isolated DIO

Small installations often need a little of both: somewhere to keep data and a few signals to read or switch. A camera trigger, a door contact, a status lamp and a reject output do not justify a separate I/O box, and a compact computer has one MezIO interface to spend. The MezIO-R12 is part of the Neousys MezIO-R11/R12 family of 2.5-inch SATA storage MezIO modules, and it adds isolated digital I/O to the drive position.

The module provides one internal SATA port for a 2.5-inch HDD or SSD, plus four isolated digital inputs and four isolated digital outputs on their own connector. The DIO supports polling mode access and a change-of-state interrupt on the inputs, so an application can respond when an input changes instead of reading it in a loop. The drive gives the system a separate volume for logs, images or recordings. If the system does not need digital I/O, the MezIO-R11 offers the same drive position on its own.

We fit the MezIO-R12 inside the Neousys system on its high-speed board-to-board connector with three-point mezzanine mounting, install the drive you specify, then configure and test the I/O before the system ships. Each system has one MezIO interface. The MezIO-R12 fits the POC-700, POC-700-FT and POC-600 embedded computers.

Four channels each way suits a small machine or a single trigger and status set. Where a POC-700 or POC-600 needs 16 isolated inputs and 16 outputs, the MezIO-D330 is the larger DIO option, though it does not include the drive position.
