PB-9250J-SA Overview
A box PC that loses power mid-write can corrupt its storage, and battery UPS units struggle in the hot cabinets where industrial PCs live. The Neousys PB-9250J-SA replaces the battery with eight 370 F, 3.0 V supercapacitors, storing 9250 W·s of energy in a DIN rail module that keeps working from -25 to 65 °C and lasts more than 10 years or 500,000 charge cycles.
It wires in between a 12 to 35 V DC supply and the PC through pluggable three-pin terminal blocks. While power is present, the input passes straight through to the output; when it drops, the module regulates 12 or 24 V at up to 180 W. Neousys patented CAP energy management watches the stored energy and the power draw, then signals the PC to shut down cleanly before the supercapacitors run flat, with no driver or software needed.
Control and status run over a DB9 port for three-wire RS-232 and a 10-pin isolated terminal block carrying a PWR_BTN# output and a SYS_STAT input, so the PB-9250J-SA can press the power button and confirm the PC has shut down. Besides the normal backup mode, it offers ignition control modes for vehicles, applying user-set power-on and power-off delays from an IGN input. A configuration utility can trade capacity for life: charged to 6525 J, it is rated for more than 10 years at 65 °C around the clock.
Shock and vibration meet IEC 61373 Category 1 Class B, the EMC design is to EN 50155 requirements, and it carries CE and FCC Class A. The module is 82.5 x 175.2 x 128.2 mm and 1.7 kg, with DIN rail mounting as standard and a wall-mount kit as an option. For a lighter load, the PB-4600J-SA uses the same housing with half the energy, and the PB-9250J-110V takes 110 V railway supplies.
