Premio BCO-500-2L-N97 Intel N97 (Alder Lake-N) Fanless Embedded PC with Dual 2.5GbE and 4x USB 3.2 Gen 2

Signage players, data collection points and small control enclosures rarely need much processing, but they do need a quiet box that keeps running. The Premio BCO-500-2L-N97 is the quad-core Intel N97 model of the BCO-500 series, a semi-rugged fanless embedded PC with dual 2.5GbE, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and two COM ports.

The Intel N97 is a four-core, 12 W Alder Lake-N processor, which suits signage playback, data collection and light control work at low power. One DDR5 4800 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 16 GB, and storage is a SATA SSD in an M.2 B-Key socket (2242, 2280 or 3042). TPM 2.0 and a watchdog are built in, and Windows 11 and Linux are supported.

Two Intel I225-V 2.5GbE ports sit beside four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, COM1 for RS-232/422/485 and COM2 for RS-232 on DB9, and a line-out jack. A DisplayPort 1.4a output at 4K 60 Hz and an HDMI 1.4b output drive two independent displays. An M.2 E-Key socket takes optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, with six antenna holes ready on the enclosure.

Power is 12 to 36 V DC through a locking DC jack with AT and ATX modes, and an AC/DC adapter is optional. The BCO-500-2L-N97 runs fanless from -10 °C to 50 °C, is designed to comply with MIL-STD-810H for shock and vibration, and is UL listed to UL 61010-1 and UL 61010-2-201, with CE, FCC Class A, UKCA, VCCI and RCM. Wall and VESA mounting are supported, with a DIN-rail kit optional. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, the SSD, the OS image and any Wi-Fi module fitted. The BCO-500-2L-N305 uses the same build with an eight-core 15 W Core i3-N305 for more headroom, and the BCO-1000-ADLN-N97-2L pairs the N97 with six USB ports, 8-line DIO and a 2.5-inch drive bay.
