Sintrones ABOX-5220-M12X Intel 14th Gen Core Rugged PC with 8x M12 GbE

On rolling stock and working vehicles, vibration is the slow enemy of RJ45 connectors, and a loose plug can take a network segment down without warning. The Sintrones ABOX-5220-M12X is the M12 rugged PC in the ABOX-5220 series, with its eight GbE ports on screw-locking X-coded connectors and no PoE or GPU to power.

Compute is an Intel Core i9-14900T, i7-14700T or i5-14500T with up to 24 cores and 32 threads, on the R680E chipset with up to 96 GB of ECC-capable DDR5-5600 and TPM 2.0. Intel UHD Graphics 770 drives two DP++ outputs at up to 7680 x 4320 and two HDMI 2.0b outputs, so the ABOX-5220-M12X can run several displays and lighter inference without a discrete card. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS are supported.

Networking is 10 LAN ports: eight Intel I210 GbE ports on M12 X-coded connectors, with the two 2.5GbE ports on RJ45, and two Intel I226 2.5GbE ports, all with PXE boot and Wake-on-LAN. Alongside sit eight USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, four RS-232/422/485 ports, eight digital inputs, four outputs and two 0 to 60 V ADC inputs. Two M.2 Key B slots take 4G or 5G with dual SIM for network redundancy, alongside Wi-Fi and a CAN bus or GNSS module, with three M.2 SSD slots and two removable 2.5-inch SATA trays offering RAID 0, 1 and 5.

Power is 9 to 60 V DC on a five-pin terminal block with ignition detection and over-current, over-voltage, surge and reverse-polarity protection. The ABOX-5220-M12X runs fanless from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, is tested to MIL-STD-810H and EN 61373 and carries EN 50155, EN 45545-2 (R25) and E-Mark compliance. Elsewhere in the Sintrones series, the ABOX-5220P-M12X adds PoE+ to the M12 ports and the ABOX-5220G-M12X adds an MXM GPU.
