Sintrones ABOX-5222P Intel Core Series 2 Rugged Fanless PC with 6x 2.5GbE PoE+

Camera-heavy sites, from depot yards to production lines, often spend as much effort on power runs and PoE injectors as on the cameras themselves. The ABOX-5222P is the PoE+ model in the Sintrones ABOX-5222 series, a rugged fanless PC that powers and connects up to six devices from its own Ethernet ports, in a 65 mm-high aluminum enclosure measuring 210 x 240 mm without brackets.

Compute comes from Intel Core Series 2 on the H610E chipset, with Core 7 251TE, Core 5 211TE or Core 3 201TE options and the processor-integrated Intel UHD Graphics 770 for display and inference work. Two DDR5-5600 SO-DIMM slots take up to 96 GB, which can leave room for several camera streams and analytics in memory, and TPM 2.0 plus a configurable watchdog support unattended running. Windows 11 IoT Enterprise LTSC and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS are supported.

The six Intel I226-LM 2.5GbE ports on the ABOX-5222P deliver PoE+ at 25.5 W per port within a 120 W total budget, so camera count and per-device draw should be planned together. Where cameras are powered separately, the ABOX-5222 offers the same six ports as data links. Four USB 3.2 ports, HDMI 2.0b and DP++ outputs, two RS-232/422/485 ports (six optional) and eight digital inputs with four outputs handle local devices, while M.2 slots take 5G with dual SIM, GNSS or CAN FD and Wi-Fi, and storage pairs an M.2 NVMe SSD with a removable tray for two 2.5-inch SATA SSDs.

Power comes in at 9 to 60 V DC through a 5-pin terminal block with over-current, over-voltage, surge and reverse-polarity protection and ignition detection, and on this model the supply has to cover the PoE load as well as the computer. The rugged fanless PC operates from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, is tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration, and carries CE, FCC Class A, UKCA, E-Mark and IEC 62368-1 compliance from Sintrones, which suits the ABOX-5222P to vehicle camera systems and roadside cabinets.
