IMB-600-ONX8-DEV KIT Overview
Right-sizing compute is half the job in edge AI: a model that fits an 8GB module does not need a 16GB system underneath it. The Sintrones IMB-600-ONX8-DEV-KIT is the Mini-ITX edge AI developer kit in the IMB-600 series that pairs the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 8GB system-on-module with the same carrier board, I/O set and power envelope as its 16GB sibling, running JetPack 6.2 on Linux.
Proving a workload on the 8GB module during development answers the sizing question before any deployment hardware is ordered. PCIe 4.0 runs through the board, with the M-key 2280 slot taking an NVMe SSD on four lanes of Gen4 for datasets and recorded sensor logs. The IMB-600-ONX8-DEV-KIT is the low-profile 35.4mm build, easy to fix into bench rigs and test enclosures, and pipelines that outgrow the module can move to the IMB-600-ONX16-DEV-KIT without changing the board around it.
Vision development starts at the 8-lane MIPI CSI-2 connector, with HDMI for a local display. The dual-LAN arrangement of one 2.5GbE and one GbE port on Intel I226 controllers covers streaming and bench networking, alongside two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and a USB 2.0 Type-C port. CAN FD, an RS232/422/485 serial port and 4-in/4-out digital I/O connect prototypes to vehicle and machine networks, while B-key, E-key and full-size mPCIe sockets accept optional 4G/5G, GPS/GLONASS and WiFi/Bluetooth modules.
Like the rest of the range, the IMB-600-ONX8-DEV-KIT follows Sintrones deployment practice on power and environment: 9-60V DC on a terminal block, AT and ATX modes, ignition control, and fanless operation from -25°C to 50°C in a 0.9kg aluminum build with CE, FCC and UKCA marks. For automotive multi-camera work on the same module, the IMB-600-ONX8-DEV-KIT-PLUS adds four GMSL-2 inputs on FAKRA-Z connectors.

Official Sintrones USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Sintrones USA distributor, scoping, building and supporting Sintrones hardware across the full development-to-deployment path. Projects proven on the IMB-600-ONX8-DEV-KIT typically deploy onto the IBOX-600 series, which offers the same Orin NX modules in compact fanless enclosures, with the IBOX-600-IP66 family the sealed step up for outdoor and washdown installs.
More widely, our industrial Jetson computers show the deployable options at this compute level, and the catalog of AI edge computers we support covers projects that land outside the Jetson line altogether. Prototypes that will live beside an engine bay or in an unheated cabinet can be checked against our wide-temp industrial PCs before the enclosure is chosen.
