Stereolabs ZED-MINI (ZED-121210) USB 3.0 Mini Stereo Camera with Wide 102° Lenses, 800 Hz IMU and Up to 15 m Depth

The Stereolabs ZED-MINI is a small USB 3.0 stereo camera with a 63 mm baseline, wide 3.06 mm lenses and an 800 Hz IMU for visual-inertial tracking. Depth runs from 0.1 m to 15 m, which suits drones, mobile mapping rigs, autonomous vehicle prototypes and security installs where space is tight.

  • 63 mm Baseline: A short 63 mm stereo baseline gives depth from 0.1 m, with accuracy within 1.0% at 2 m and 1.8% at 4 m.
  • 800 Hz Visual-Inertial Tracking: Gyroscope and accelerometer sampled at 800 Hz feed stereo SLAM, with pose updates at up to 100 Hz and position accuracy to 1 mm.
  • Wide 3.06 mm Lenses: Twin 3.06 mm f/2.0 lenses cover up to 102° horizontally and 118° diagonally from one small housing.
  • Dual 4MP Rolling-Shutter Sensors: Two 1/3″ 4MP sensors stream side by side at up to 2208 x 1242, or 672 x 376 at 100 fps.
  • USB 3.0 Type-C Power and Data: One USB 3.0 Type-C port carries data and power at a typical 1.9 W, with no separate supply.

ZED-MINI Overview

On a drone, a mapping backpack or a vehicle prototype, every gram and millimeter of mounting space is spoken for, yet the job still needs depth and reliable motion tracking. The Stereolabs ZED-MINI is a mini stereo camera built for that: two wide lenses on a 63 mm baseline and an 800 Hz IMU in a small USB-powered housing, aimed at autonomous vehicle control, mobile and aerial mapping, security and surveillance.

Twin 3.06 mm f/2.0 lenses cover up to 102° horizontally, 57° vertically and 118° diagonally, in front of two 1/3″ 4MP rolling-shutter sensors. The ZED-MINI measures depth from 0.1 m to 15 m, with accuracy within 1.0% at 2 m and 1.8% at 4 m, and outputs a depth map at native video resolution in Ultra mode. The gyroscope and accelerometer sample at 800 Hz and feed visual-inertial stereo SLAM, with Stereolabs quoting position accuracy of 1 mm, orientation to 0.1° and pose updates at up to 100 Hz. Video modes run from 2208 x 1242 at 15 fps to 672 x 376 at 100 fps.

A single USB 3.0 Type-C port carries data and power at a typical 1.9 W. Hosts are Windows and Linux PCs with an NVIDIA GPU and NVIDIA Jetson Xavier modules, and the ZED SDK runs on Windows 11 and Ubuntu. Where the camera will see weather or needs more reach, the ZED-2I-WIDE adds an IP66 enclosure and a 12 cm baseline, and the ZED-X-MINI-WIDE moves to GMSL2 with global-shutter sensors for Jetson Orin robots.

The ZED-MINI operates from 0 °C to 45 °C and has no IP rating, so it typically sits inside a vehicle, an enclosure or a drone body rather than in the open. Fixing is by 2×2 M2 threaded holes, which suits custom brackets and head-mounted rigs. We supply the ZED-MINI tested with the ZED SDK on your PC or Jetson host, ready for your own application code.
