Stereolabs ZED-2I USB 3.0 IP66 Stereo Depth Cameras with Wide or Narrow Lenses and Up to 35 m Depth

Many depth projects start on a desk with a PC and a USB cable, then move outdoors onto a robot or a mast. A camera that works on the bench but not in the rain forces a redesign at the worst moment. The Stereolabs ZED-2I series is built for that move: stereo depth cameras that connect over USB 3.0 like a development camera, in an IP66-rated aluminum body designed for dust, water and humidity.

Every ZED-2I camera uses two 1/3″ 4MP rolling-shutter sensors on a 12 cm baseline, streaming side by side at up to 2208 x 1242 at 15 fps, 1080p at 30 fps, 720p at 60 fps or 672 x 376 at 100 fps. A factory-calibrated IMU sampling at 400 Hz, with a barometer and magnetometer, adds orientation, heading and relative altitude. Power and data share a USB 3.0 Type-C connection with thumbscrew-locking cables up to 10 m, at a typical 1.9 W. Hosts are Windows and Linux PCs with an NVIDIA GPU, and NVIDIA Jetson Orin and Xavier modules, and the ZED SDK provides depth maps, point clouds, positional tracking, object detection, body tracking and spatial mapping.

The range splits by lens and polarizer. The ZED-2I-WIDE uses 2.1 mm lenses for up to a 120° diagonal view and depth from 0.3 m to 20 m, a good fit for indoor robots and room-scale analytics. The ZED-2I-WIDE-POL keeps those optics and adds a built-in polarizer that cuts glare and reflections outdoors. The ZED-2I-NARROW moves to 4.6 mm lenses for depth from 0.5 m to 35 m and 2D object detection to 55 m, suiting large halls and long aisles. The ZED-2I-NARROW-POL pairs that reach with the polarizer for field vehicles and outdoor perimeters.

In practice the ZED-2I series suits agriculture, manufacturing, logistics and spatial analytics, along with robotics teams that want one camera family from prototype to field trial. All four stereo depth cameras operate from -10 °C to 45 °C, store from -30 °C to 70 °C, mount by a 1/4″-20 thread and 2x M3 holes on a flat base, and are listed for CE, RoHS, REACH and TSCA compliance. Stereolabs offers locking USB cables from 0.3 m to 10 m and an optional tiltable mount.
