Vecow EAC-6100 NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Robotics Computers with GMSL Cameras

The Vecow EAC-6100 series is a family of robotics computers built on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module in 8GB or 16GB form, with a 1024-core Ampere GPU. Each unit takes four GMSL1 or GMSL2 automotive cameras on Fakra-Z connectors, with CAN FD, two GbE ports, dual SIM for 5G or 4G and a 9-50 V DC input with ignition control. The EAC-6100 series suits mobile robot, autonomous vehicle and agricultural machine deployments.

  • NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX: Orin NX 8GB or 16GB module with a 1024-core Ampere GPU and 32 Tensor cores, on Linux and JetPack.
  • 4x GMSL Camera Inputs: Four Fakra-Z connectors for GMSL1 or GMSL2 automotive cameras on long, locking cable runs.
  • CAN FD for Vehicle Control: One CAN FD port links motor controllers, battery systems and vehicle networks to the computer.
  • Dual GbE, 5G and 4G Ready: Two GbE ports with optional M12, plus M.2 Key B and Key E sockets and dual SIM for wireless.
  • 9-50 V DC and MIL-STD-810G: 9 V to 50 V DC with ignition control, MIL-STD-810G shock and vibration and EN 50155 EMC listings.

EAC-6100 Description

Robots and autonomous machines tend to use automotive cameras because the cables are long, locking and built for vibration, and they talk to their drives and batteries over CAN. The Vecow EAC-6100 series is built for that pairing: robotics computers with four GMSL camera inputs on Fakra-Z connectors and a CAN FD port, around the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX module. Putting camera capture, inference and vehicle control in one box removes a separate capture card and the cabling that comes with it.

Both EAC-6100 models share one design. The Orin NX module brings a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor cores, Linux and the JetPack SDK, and the four Fakra-Z inputs take GMSL1 or GMSL2 cameras. Two GbE LAN ports with optional X-coded M12, two COM ports, three USB 3.1 ports, 7-bit GPIO and an M.2 NVMe SSD handle sensors and logging, while two M.2 Key B sockets, an M.2 Key E socket and dual SIM sockets take 5G, 4G or Wi-Fi for fleet links. The micro SD slot and NVMe SSD hold maps, logs and model files between missions.

The two models differ by module. The EAC-6100-R16 carries the Orin NX 16GB with an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and two NVDLA engines, rated by Vecow at up to 100 TOPS, for robots that run perception and planning together. The EAC-6100-R08 uses the Orin NX 8GB with a 6-core CPU and one NVDLA engine, a lower-cost fit for AMRs and guided vehicles with lighter models. Both run the same JetPack software image, so a fleet can mix modules by task without changing cameras, cabling or mounting.

EAC-6100 robotics computers typically serve mobile robots, autonomous vehicles and agricultural machines. A 9 V to 50 V DC input with 16-mode software ignition control runs from battery and vehicle power, and the 193 x 132 x 80 mm, 1.9 kg unit is rated from -20 °C to 70 °C in 15 W mode, with MIL-STD-810G operating shock and vibration and EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 EMC listings. Wall mounting is standard, with a DIN-rail kit optional, which keeps installation simple on a robot chassis plate.

Official Vecow USA Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Vecow USA distributor, supplying the EAC-6100 range for USA robotics and autonomous vehicle projects. Within Vecow's range, the EAC-7000 series moves to NVIDIA Jetson Thor for heavier robotics workloads, and the EAC-5000 series pairs Jetson AGX Orin with eight GMSL camera inputs and a PCIe x8 slot.

With GMSL cameras and CAN FD the EAC-6100 sits among our NVIDIA Jetson CAN bus computers and our rugged Jetson computers. The EAC-6200 series adds four GbE PoE+ camera ports to the same Orin NX core, and the EAC-6000 series keeps the Orin NX core in a smaller 55 mm body with two GbE ports.
