Vecow EMBC-7000E-165U 3.5″ SBC with Intel Core Ultra 7 165U, Dual 2.5GbE and SUMIT B Expansion

Mobile robots and automated machines now run AI inference alongside control software, which needs a processor with an NPU on a board small enough for a compact chassis. The EMBC-7000E-165U is the SUMIT B build with Core Ultra 7 in the Vecow EMBC-7000 series: a 3.5 inch SBC with a hybrid CPU, GPU and NPU processor and SUMIT B expansion.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 165U has 12 cores and an Intel AI Boost NPU, which Vecow rates at 11 TOPS, with Intel Graphics driving up to four independent displays: HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 up to 4096 x 2304, DisplayPort 1.4 over USB Type-C up to 3840 x 2160 and eDP up to 3840 x 2400 at 120 Hz. One DDR5 5600 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 48 GB, and Vecow offers OpenVINO support through an optional service.

Networking is two Intel I226 2.5GbE ports with Time Sensitive Networking, with Intel vPro and TCC support. I/O covers two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, one USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 Type-C with display, two USB 2.0 on a wafer, four RS-232/422/485 headers, two 8-bit GPIO headers and HD audio. Storage is an M.2 Key M 2280 socket on PCIe 4.0 x4 or SATA plus a SATA III port. A SUMIT B connector takes 10G LAN, 10G SFP+ or 4G expansion, and M.2 Key B with SIM and M.2 Key E sockets take 5G, 4G and Wi-Fi modules. The EMBC-5000E-1185G7E is the earlier Tiger Lake board with SUMIT A and B.

Power is 9 to 55 V DC on an ATX 4-pin connector, with 16-mode software ignition control. The EMBC-7000E-165U operates from -40 to 75 °C with airflow, with heat sink and heat spreader accessories available, and carries a TPM 2.0, a watchdog timer and CE, FCC and ICES marks. It measures 146 x 102 mm and supports Windows 11, Windows 10 and Linux.
