SDI to HDMI Overview
Most monitoring points in a studio, outside broadcast or AV room just need an SDI feed on an HDMI screen, with the SDI signal carried on to the next device. The Yuan SDI to HDMI is a straightforward SDI to HDMI converter for that job, with two SDI loop-throughs.
Input is one SDI connection accepting 3G-SDI at 1920x1080p 60/50, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24, 1080i and 720p, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Outputs are one HDMI and two SDI loop-throughs, all in the input format. Yuan lists high-quality digital direct conversion and auto source format detection. Embedded audio is up to two channels, 24-bit, 48 kHz.
The SDI to HDMI is plug and play and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. If your display needs a different format, the SDI to HDMI-S adds up/down scaling, frame rate conversion and eight-channel audio. For audio out to a mixer or speakers, the SDI to HDMI Audio De-Embedder adds an L/R, AES-3 and S/PDIF output.
No operating temperature or certification is published, so we treat it as an indoor desk or rack unit. We can also supply spare units for critical signal paths and advise on mounting and power in the rack, so the installation is ready before you go live. Send us the formats, frame rates and cable runs on your system and we can check this converter fits, then pair it with Yuan capture cards where the signal also needs recording or streaming. We supply the SDI to HDMI configured and tested with the SDI sources and HDMI displays it will connect to.
