Arestech PPC-Z217 21.5" Intel Core i3-7100U or Core i5-7200U Stainless Steel Panel PCs with IP66/IP69K

A computer on a washdown line is hosed with the rest of the equipment, often with hot water at high pressure and cleaning chemicals, so every seam, bezel edge and connector has to keep water out. The Arestech PPC-Z217 series is built for that routine: a family of 21.5 inch fanless stainless steel panel PCs in 316 grade stainless steel with a completely flat front, sealed to IP66 and IP69K as a whole unit, with every external connection on a sealed connector.

Every PPC-Z217 shares the same build. It has two DDR4-2133 SO-DIMM sockets for up to 32 GB, an M.2 2280 socket with PCIe x4 or SATA, two GbE ports on Intel i219V and i211AT controllers and two USB 3.0 ports, one on an IP67 connector at the front, and two USB 2.0 ports, with one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port. A full-size Mini-PCIe socket with a SIM slot and an M.2 2230 E-key socket for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth take optional 4G and Wi-Fi modules, which ship with IP66 antennas, and operating system support covers Windows 10 IoT or Professional and Linux. The display is a 250 nit 16:9 full HD LCD at 1920 x 1080 with a 3000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles horizontally and vertically. A 13.56 MHz RFID reader for MIFARE and FeliCa cards is built in for operator log-in, and the I/O exits downwards so water does not sit on the connectors.

The PPC-Z217 series offers the PPC-Z217PW-B61A1 (Core i5-7200U, PCAP), the PPC-Z217PW-B62A1 (Core i3-7100U, PCAP), the PPC-Z217RS-B62A1 (Core i3-7100U, 5-wire resistive) and the PPC-Z217RW-B61A1 (Core i5-7200U, 5-wire resistive). Projected capacitive touch has a 7 Mohs surface, 90% transparency and a touch on/off button for cleaning, and 5-wire resistive touch works with gloves and is rated for 36 million touches.

Power is 9 to 36 V DC on an M12 connector with AT and ATX power modes, and an optional 12 V, 60 W M12 power supply is available. The 21.5″ panel PC is fanless and operates from -20 °C to 60 °C at 5 to 95% humidity with extended-temperature memory and storage fitted. It is shock-tested to 20 G under IEC 60068-2-27 and vibration-tested from 5 to 500 Hz at 2.16 Grms, and carries CE and FCC Class A marks. An SS316 pressure balance element stops condensation forming inside the sealed enclosure. It measures 570 x 430 x 66.9 mm, weighs 12 kg and mounts on 100 x 100 and 200 x 200 mm VESA, a yoke or a wall mount.
