SabreNet-12000-100 Overview
Connecting a dozen sensors, computers and radios in a vehicle bay or an exposed equipment rack calls for a switch that is sealed, filtered and managed, not a commercial box behind a bulkhead. The SabreNet-12000-100 is the low-profile build in the Diamond Systems SabreNet-12000 series: a complete rugged Ethernet switch that Diamond builds around its EPS-12000 board-level switch, with a MIL-STD-461 power filter and no PTP timing.
It carries 12 10/100/1000Base-T copper Ethernet ports, arranged in groups of four and eight on two MIL-DTL-38999 connectors, so every link enters the case through a sealed circular connector rather than an RJ-45 socket. Diamond’s embedded IStaX Layer 3 routing and switching software runs on the switch, and you manage it through a web interface on any of the ports or through a local RS-232 port on the four-port connector. Diamond can also customize the software branding and the connector arrangement.
The Layer 3 software handles routing between subnets alongside everyday switching, which helps where a vehicle or shelter network is split into separate segments for sensors, mission computers and communications. Inside the case, Diamond’s EPS-12000 pairs an EPSM-10GX switch module with a carrier board that holds the magnetics, the RS-232 transceiver and the power circuits. The SabreNet-12000-120 adds IEEE-1588 PTP to the same low-profile build, and the SabreNet-12000-200 swaps the filter for an isolated MIL-grade power supply in a taller case. Our guide on how a military Ethernet switch is built covers the sealing and power choices behind designs like this.
Power enters through an integrated MIL-STD-461 filter module that accepts 7 to 34 V DC, and this is the short enclosure of the two Diamond offers. The case has an IP67 design and the switch operates from -40 to +85 °C. Diamond publishes a shock and vibration test report for the SabreNet-12000, along with a user manual. A lab bench-grade external cable kit lets you run the switch on the bench before its harness is built.

Official Diamond Systems USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Diamond Systems USA distributor, supplying the SabreNet-12000-100 for USA defense and vehicle programs. Within the Diamond range the EPS-12000-CM is the board-level route for teams that want the same switch core inside their own enclosure, and the SabreNet-12000-200 suits vehicles that need an isolated power supply.
The SabreNet-12000-100 sits among our rugged Ethernet switches and our wider range of managed Ethernet switches for harsh sites. Where a sealed 12-port network needs Layer 3 routing on a filtered 7 to 34 V DC supply without precision timing, this is the build to specify.
