DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 Overview
Some edge jobs need only one camera and a compact model, but still have to sit between a device network and a site network, much like an industrial gateway that also runs inference. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 is the entry compact industrial embedded computer in the Forecr DSBOX-ORNX-LAN series, built around the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 4GB.
The Jetson Orin Nano 4GB pairs NVIDIA Ampere GPU cores with Arm64 CPU cores and 4 GB of 64-bit LPDDR5, enough for single-stream detection, counting and classification tasks. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 supports Ubuntu Linux 20.04 with JetPack 5.1, the same software base as the larger modules, so an application can move to a bigger tier later without a rewrite.
Choosing the entry module keeps the full connectivity. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the second on its own PCIe-to-Ethernet controller, three USB 3.1 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 3840 x 2160, one CAN bus port, one RS232 and one RS422 port, and two digital inputs with two digital outputs, with one Type-C port also used for recovery. Two M.2 Key-M slots take SSD storage, a 2280 socket on four PCIe lanes and a 2230 socket, while an M.2 Key-E socket adds WiFi and Bluetooth. A 9-28 VDC input powers the unit.
Forecr specifies an aluminum enclosure that dissipates heat and protects against dust, shock and vibration, and the module runs without a fan across a -25°C to +85°C ambient range. At 110 x 130 x 60 mm and 765 g, the industrial embedded computer fits small enclosures and control cabinets with space to spare. Where the workload needs more memory, the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 carries the Orin Nano 8GB, and the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB16 moves to the Jetson Orin NX 16GB.

Official Forecr USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Forecr USA distributor, supplying the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 and the rest of the Forecr Orin NX and Orin Nano range. The DSBOX-ORNX keeps the same footprint with one LAN port, two USB Type-A ports and an M.2 Key-B socket with SIM slot for cellular links. The DSBOARD-ORNX-LAN carrier board suits bare-board integration of the dual LAN design, and the railway-grade RAIBOX-ORNX takes Orin NX compute onto trains and trackside equipment, where on-board installations call for a different set of approvals.
As an entry Orin Nano 4GB unit, the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 belongs with our Orin Nano edge computers, offering the lowest module tier with both network ports intact. Its 110 x 130 mm footprint also lists it among our industrial mini PCs, for cabinets and machine frames where space is short but two networks, serial lines and CAN still need to reach one compact unit. That makes it a practical starting point for gateway-style analytics that may move to larger modules later.
