Forecr DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB Fanless Industrial Embedded Computer with Dual LAN

Video analytics at a shop, depot or junction usually pulls streams from an IP camera network and reports results to a separate business or control network, and keeping the two apart is easier with two ports than with a bolt-on adapter. The DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 handles that job with the NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano 8GB inside a fanless industrial embedded computer from the Forecr DSBOX-ORNX-LAN series.

The Jetson Orin Nano 8GB module combines NVIDIA Ampere GPU cores with Arm64 CPU cores and 8 GB of 128-bit LPDDR5, twice the memory of the 4GB tier. That leaves the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 room for a larger detection network, or a tracker alongside it, across several streams. Ubuntu Linux 20.04 and JetPack 5.1 are supported.

For I/O the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC8 provides two Gigabit Ethernet ports, the second on its own PCIe-to-Ethernet controller, three USB 3.1 Type-C ports, an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 3840 x 2160, one CAN bus port, one RS232 and one RS422 port, and two digital inputs with two digital outputs. One of the Type-C ports also serves for recovery. Two M.2 Key-M slots take SSD storage, a 2280 socket on four PCIe lanes and a 2230 socket, while an M.2 Key-E socket adds WiFi and Bluetooth. Power comes from a 9-28 VDC input suited to common 12 V and 24 V supplies.

Forecr specifies an aluminum enclosure that dissipates heat and protects against dust, shock and vibration, with fanless operation across a -25°C to +85°C ambient range. The industrial embedded computer measures 110 x 130 x 60 mm and weighs 765 g, small enough for a comms cabinet or a shelf beside a network switch. For lighter models the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AC4 uses the Orin Nano 4GB, and the DSBOX-ORNX-LAN-AB8 moves to the Jetson Orin NX 8GB.
