NVIDIA Jetson TX2 Module NVIDIA Jetson TX2 8GB Module with Pascal GPU and On-Module Wi-Fi

The Jetson TX2 Module is the 8GB version in the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 series, with a 256-core Pascal GPU, a 6-core Denver 2 and Cortex-A57 CPU, 32 GB of eMMC and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the module. NVIDIA lists it as end of life since January 2025, so it suits replacements in existing TX2 designs.

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on Module: Dual-band 802.11ac 2×2 Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 are on the module, unlike the TX2 4GB and TX2i.
  • 8GB LPDDR4 and 32GB eMMC: 128-bit LPDDR4 at up to 1866 MHz with 32 GB of eMMC 5.1 for the OS and application.
  • 256-Core Pascal GPU: A Pascal GPU at up to 1.12 GHz with CUDA support, plus a 1.4 Gpix/s ISP for camera pipelines.
  • Denver 2 and Cortex-A57 CPU: Two Denver 2 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores at up to 2.0 GHz in a heterogeneous CPU complex.
  • End of Life January 2025: NVIDIA lists the TX2 8GB as end of life since January 2025; Orin modules need a new carrier board.

Jetson TX2 Module Overview

Drones, robots and video analytics units built on the TX2 are often still in service, and a failed or depleted module has to be replaced like for like. The Jetson TX2 Module is the 8GB version in the NVIDIA Jetson TX2 series, alongside the Jetson TX2 4GB, the industrial Jetson TX2i and the SO-DIMM Jetson TX2 NX.

The Jetson TX2 pairs a 256-core Pascal GPU at up to 1.12 GHz with a CPU complex of two Denver 2 cores and four Cortex-A57 cores, all at up to 2.0 GHz. Memory is 8 GB of 128-bit LPDDR4 at up to 1866 MHz, with 32 GB of eMMC 5.1. NVIDIA rates module power at 7.5 W in Max-Q and 15 W in Max-P, from a 5.5 to 19.6 V input, and the module is the only one in the series with dual-band 802.11ac Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.1 on board.

The 400-pin board-to-board connector carries up to six 2-lane or three 4-lane MIPI CSI-2 cameras, three USB 3.0 and three USB 2.0 ports, five PCIe lanes as two x1 and one x4, one SATA port, Gigabit Ethernet, two CAN interfaces and two eDP, DP or HDMI outputs.

NVIDIA lists the Jetson TX2 8GB as having reached end of life in January 2025. The TX2i shares the 400-pin connector and is listed through July 2027, so it can suit carriers that support both modules. The Orin family uses different connectors, so moving from the TX2 means a new carrier board, typically around the Jetson Orin NX or Orin Nano. Our Jetson Xavier and TX2 end-of-life guide covers last-time-buy planning and migration to Orin.
