Sintrones IBOX-604-G2-ONX16 NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB Drone Computer with 2x GMSL

The IBOX-604-G2-ONX16 is the Orin NX 16GB model in the Sintrones IBOX-604-G2 series, a drone computer with an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and 16 GB LPDDR5 behind two GMSL-2 camera inputs. It suits UAV and robot payloads running larger vision models or two busy camera streams.

  • NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB: 1024 CUDA cores, an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and 16 GB LPDDR5, the most memory and CPU cores in the series.
  • Dual GMSL-2 for Two Camera Streams: Two GMSL-2 inputs on FAKRA connectors feed the module, and the larger memory can give room for two concurrent camera pipelines.
  • Under 339 g Wall-Mount Enclosure: A 120 x 115 x 32 mm aluminum enclosure with a net weight under 339 g keeps the larger module light enough for airframes.
  • Drone Control and Network Interfaces: CAN FD, RS-232/422/485, a 3.3 V UART, 2.5GbE on Intel I226-IT and GbE from the module link autopilots and sensors.
  • -25 °C to 50 °C Operation: Rated from -25 °C to 50 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow and tested to MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration for mobile platforms.

IBOX-604-G2-ONX16 Overview

On a UAV, the compute that fits the airframe and the compute the model needs are often in tension, and a 16 GB module gives larger detection, segmentation or tracking models space to run. The IBOX-604-G2-ONX16 is the Orin NX 16GB model in the Sintrones IBOX-604-G2 series, a drone computer measuring 120 x 115 x 32 mm in an aluminum enclosure with a net weight under 339 g.

The NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB module brings 1024 CUDA cores, an 8-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and 16 GB of LPDDR5, the most CPU cores and memory in the series. It runs NVIDIA JetPack 6.2 or later with Jetson Linux and the NVIDIA development tools. Where the model fits in 8 GB, the IBOX-604-G2-ONX8 uses Orin NX 8GB in the same enclosure, with the same mounts and wiring.

Two GMSL-2 inputs on FAKRA connectors feed camera video into the IBOX-604-G2-ONX16, with supported cameras from oToBrite, e-con Systems and StereoLabs. A 2.5GbE port on an Intel I226-IT controller carries data to the drone system and a GbE port from the module serves LiDAR or a high-resolution sensor. CAN FD, an RS-232/422/485 port and a 3.3 V UART connect flight controllers, two USB 3.2 ports take GNSS or other peripherals, and storage is an M.2 2242 NVMe SSD, with M.2 Key B plus dual SIM for WWAN and M.2 Key E for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.

Power arrives at 10 to 60 V DC through a protected 3-pin terminal block with ignition detection and smart power management, sized for 3S to 14S lithium battery systems. The IBOX-604-G2-ONX16 operates from -25 °C to 50 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, five degrees below the 8 GB models, so payload-bay temperatures are worth checking at the design stage. Testing covers MIL-STD-810H shock and vibration plus IEC 60068-2-64, and the drone computer carries a built-in 3-axis accelerometer and CE, FCC Class A, UKCA and IEC 62368-1 compliance from Sintrones.
