Vecow SE-1000 Four Port Gigabit LAN Switch Cards for PCIe x1 Slots
The Vecow SE-1000 series is a family of LAN switch cards with four Gigabit RJ45 ports behind an integrated single-chip switch on one Intel I210 controller, in a PoE+ build and a LAN bypass build. Both use PCI Express x1 and operate from -40 to 85 °C. The series suits surveillance, in-vehicle, transport and mobile NVR systems.
- Four Switched Gigabit Ports: Four 10/100/1000 Mbps RJ45 ports behind an integrated single-chip Gigabit switch.
- PCI Express x1: One Intel I210 controller links the switch to the host through a PCIe x1 slot.
- PTP and Traffic Shaping: IEEE 1588 PTP, 802.1AS and the 802.1Qav traffic shaper for timed, prioritized streams.
- Energy Efficient Ethernet: 802.3az EEE and jumbo frames up to 9728 bytes on every port.
- -40 to 85 °C Operation: Industrial-grade operation and storage from -40 to 85 °C, with Windows and Linux listed.

SE-1000 Description
Vehicle and road-side computers often have only a short PCIe x1 slot free, yet the system still needs four Gigabit ports for cameras or network segments. The Vecow SE-1000 series answers with a LAN switch card: four RJ45 ports behind an onboard Gigabit switch, fed to the host through one x1 link. Vecow’s ordering table names both as 4-port RJ45 PCI Express LAN switch cards. We specify these cards for the transport and surveillance systems we build and supply.
Both builds share one architecture. An all-in-one, fully integrated single-chip Gigabit switch serves four 8-pin RJ45 ports at 10/100/1000 Mbps, and one Intel Ethernet Controller I210 links the switch to the host over PCI Express x1. The four ports therefore share one host link rather than each having its own controller. Vecow describes the switch as an all-in-one design with lower power consumption. The design supports jumbo frames up to 9728 bytes, 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet, IEEE 1588 PTP, 802.1AS and the 802.1Qav traffic shaper for timed, prioritized streams.
The two variants differ in what the ports add. The SE-1004 is the PoE+ build: each port complies with IEEE 802.3at and supplies up to 25.5 W at 48 V DC from a 4-pin 12 V connector, so four cameras each need one cable. The SE-1014 is the LAN bypass build: Vecow lists it with advanced LAN bypass, and the series supports hardware LAN bypass mode, with relays on the board. Both builds keep the same switch, controller, x1 interface, board size and temperature rating, so the choice rests only on power or bypass. Choose the SE-1004 for powered cameras and the SE-1014 where the host joins network segments.
Vecow does not state a total PoE budget for the SE-1004, so we size its 12 V feed against the camera loads. Vecow rates both cards industrial-grade, operating and storing from -40 to 85 °C, at 5 to 95% humidity. Each board measures 168 x 121 mm with a full-height bracket, and Vecow lists CE and FCC. Vecow lists Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 and Linux support, and names intelligent surveillance, in-vehicle management, intelligent transport systems, mobile DVR/NVR and industrial Ethernet as applications.

Official Vecow USA Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Vecow USA distributor, supplying the SE-1000 series for USA transport and surveillance programs. Within the Vecow range the PE-3000 series offers the same PoE+ or bypass choice on an I350 for PCIe x4, and the PE-2000 series gives each port its own controller.
The SE-1000 series sits among our PoE PCIe cards, our PCIe frame grabbers and our PCIe expansion cards. Where four Gigabit ports must fit a PCIe x1 slot in a vehicle or cabinet, this is the Vecow series to specify.
