Vecow SE-1014 Intel i210 4-Port Gigabit RJ45 LAN Bypass PCIe x1 Expansion Card

A vehicle or cabinet computer that joins network segments may have only a PCIe x1 slot free, and still needs several Gigabit ports with a bypass option. The SE-1014 is the LAN bypass build in the Vecow SE-1000 series, a LAN switch card with four RJ45 ports and advanced hardware LAN bypass. We specify it for systems we build where the host sits on an industrial Ethernet network.

The four Gigabit RJ45 ports run at 10/100/1000 Mbps behind an all-in-one, fully integrated single-chip Gigabit switch. One Intel Ethernet Controller I210 links that switch to the host over PCI Express x1, so the ports share one host link rather than each having its own controller. The design supports jumbo frames up to 9728 bytes and 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet.

Vecow’s ordering table lists the SE-1014 as a four-port LAN switch card with advanced LAN bypass, and the series supports hardware LAN bypass mode. Relays for the bypass sit behind the RJ45 ports. IEEE 1588 PTP, 802.1AS and the 802.1Qav traffic shaper support timed and prioritized traffic. The SE-1004 is the PoE+ build for powered cameras, and the PE-3014 offers 2-pair LAN bypass on an I350 for a PCIe x4 slot.

Vecow rates the SE-1014 industrial-grade, from -40 to 85 °C operating and storage, at 5 to 95% humidity, and lists CE and FCC. The board measures 168 x 121 mm with a full-height bracket. Vecow lists Windows 10, 8.1 and 7 and Linux support, and names intelligent surveillance, in-vehicle management, intelligent transport systems, mobile DVR/NVR and industrial Ethernet as applications for the series.
